Smile and Wormth
=Mini concert at the institution for handicaped people=

Today, we mandolin club visited a kind of certain institution for people who have some handicaps to participate the small concert. People there are engaged themselves in some work which they can do to train. Today, the mini concert was hold there and we were also invited. It's because we met the person who is woking there on the day of the last concert at Tsuda community center. The woman said to us on the day, "Thank you for beautiful and moving performance!! I was really touched and enjoyed!! Can you come to the institution next year and hold the concert? I want people there to listen your wonderful performance."
So, we decided to join today's concert!! Before we played, people there let us listen to their singing and the woman played for us some music with the harmonica. After that, we played 10 musics for them. People there gave us handclaps and they were singing to our music merrily. I myself really enjoyed playing and had a wonderful time there. Even though people there have some handicaps, they are more and more attractive as people than anybody. Their hearts are extremely pure and warm!! They gave me feel happy and let me smile from the bottom of my heart. I felt that we should respect them. If people talk and spend the same time with them, their feel of discrimination will vanish from their hearts. Besides I realized again that music has attractive power that can give people happiness and smile. I like people's smile very much!! I wanna let people smile through the sound of the Mandola. Today was the last chance for us to play together. Seniors (4th grade) withdrew from our club. Although I'm sorry about that, I was happy, becauses eniors said merrily "I'm satisfied with this last concert!!"

Sansha Taisai Festival

Maybe you understood basic information about my hometown through the following article. Then, I wanna introduce the famous big festival in my hometown which is also my favorite. If you anticipate the festival is Nabuta festival, you’re wrong!! Nebuta festival is the one in Aomori city.

The festival I wanna introduce is Sansha Taisai Festival which is regarded as Japan’s biggest float festival. The Sansha Taisai means that “the big festival of three shrines.” It is the festival for three shrines, Ogami Jinja Shrine, Choja San Shrine, and Shinra Jinja Shrine. The festival takes place every year, of July 31 to August 4. This 270-year-old festival is characterized by the parade of portable shrines and more than 20 wheeled floats gorgeously strolling around the streets. The float is pulled with two long ropes by many people, especially by children. They chant "Yo-I yo-i yoisa - yoisa yoisa - nose –,“ “ ya-re ya-re ya-re-ya-re,” and “ya-re koryanose – “to the sound of the Taiko "Japanese drums" and of the Fue "Japanese flutes". The decorated floats tell stories found in myths, old tales, or Kabuki plays. Besides, Mikoshi - "small portable temple" for three shrines and other attractive things such as ToraMai “dances of the tiger” (it is believed that if you’re bitten by the tigers, you are protected against the illness and the accidents.) and ShiShi Mai – “dance of the lions (although the posture is like the hybrid between the dog and the dragon.)”(The performance consists in making slap the mouth of the mask on a very definite rhythm. It is very impressive, especially when the troop executes it in unison) parade between floats. Whenever I listen to the sounds of the festival with Taiko and Fue, I’m very excited. I love this festival!!

I can’t tell you everything about this festival in this article, but I’m happy if you understand and be interested in my hometown through two articles. There are more interesting festivals like Enburi.

My lovable hometown

Do you know Hachinohe city in Aomori prefecture? Maybe you don’t know well about it, so I wanna tell little about my hometown, Hachinohe city.

Hachinohe City, with about 250,000 inhabitants, is located in southeast Aomori Prefecture. It is especially famous in all of Japan for its marine products. (e.g. squid, mackerel, sardine) A large number of fishing boats come and go everyday. It is also famous in northern Tohoku for its industries. Hachinohe is and has been in the process of developing its port to be an international base distribution point.　Thanks for its location, there is the famous beautiful coast named Tanesashi coast. You must be fascinated by its beautiful scenery. The beach was crowded with many people who enjoy swimming, camping, picnicking, etc... There is also the unique where thousands of black-tailed seagulls (Umineko) gather especially in spring. This place is designated as a natural monument as a breeding place for the black-tailed seagull.　The place is Kabushima island. It is the breeding ground for them. The very scenic Kabushima Benzaiten shrine overlooks the ocean too. People in Hachinohe city speak in Nanbu dialect not it Tsugaru dialect. (Most of you guys think all of people in Aomori prefecture speak in Tsugaru one, though.) The Senbei-Jiru can be introduced as a famous local dish. The special product Nanbu Senbei (flat rice cracker made by out of flour and salt.) is softened in the soup which is based on soy sauce flavor with many delicious vegetables. I love it!!

There are more and more and more attractive places, foods, goods in my hometown, but I can’t tell you all of them here. In the next article, I wanna tell you about the famous festival in my hometown, Sansha Taisai festival. To be continued…

"The new movie titled ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ is really exciting, isn’t it?" “Yeah! I like the last scene the best! How about you? ” Women’s lively voices and laughter were reverberating through the room without cease, next to the men who talk calmly just like that “I watched the movie named ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ yesterday.” “Oh, how was it?” “Good.” Like other countries in the world, you can find the difference of communication styles also in Japan, especially in the field of “speech patterns.”

First, women often use some quantifiers effectively in their conversation such as “sort of,” “a bit,” and “kind of.” They also use the adverb “maybe” frequently. Because they place a special emphasis on the maintenance of the harmony, they use the soft-spoken words not to be oppressive and impress modest images to listeners. Second, women also use some “ending tags” such as “isn’t it?” or “doesn’t it?” It may be because they tend to want listeners to give assents to their opinions. Finally, women put some conversational “spices” that is called intensifiers like “very,” “really,” and “much.” By doing that, they try to make the conversation more exciting and tell their feelings or thoughts more vividly. In contrast to the communication styles of women, those of men are very simple. They don’t need so many “spices” as women. They put emphasis on what speaker says rather than how speaker says. So there is no greasy relationship among men.

"Everyone is different, but everyone is attractive as he/she is." ---Through this movie I could think deeply about new things which I've never thought before. The issue of homosexuality is not familiar to our daily life in Japan. It doesn't create big divide among people here. I think this can be one of the reason for it that there is no particular religion in Japan and people are not oppressed by the force of it. However, we can't say that there is not bias toward homosexualities. Because the issue of homosexalities. Because the issue of homosexualities is not familiar to us, we tend to misunderstand it. Some famous people/TV talents reveal that they're gay/lesbian without any hesitation and people around them make fun of them in the TV screen. So people may haven't taken the issue of homosexualities as a serious one. There are even some people who think that homosexuality is a mental illness or emotional problem. People tend to deny the objects which are different from themselves, only because they're different. Without trying to understand them, people incline to judge by appearances or images. There must be a stereotype. I've met two foreign women who love each other before. When I first knew that they're lesbians, to be honest, I staggered at the truth and my view toward them changed clarly, because that was the first time for me to meet homosexual people. However, we're getting know each other, the stereotype died without notice. I like them as a person and I became to be able to think that "homosexuality" is also one of the characters. In this movie, finally Ryan became good friend with Ed triumphing the wall for them, the stereotype toward homosexuality. Although it's still difficult for Ryan not to believe words in the Bible, he likes Ed as a person and his view has clearly changed positively through this experience. His mind was broadened.
In our daily life, we rarely see or think things from the viewpoint of others. However, to broad our mind and understand each other with more people, it's very important for us to pause for a moment and think calmly from other point of view. Even if it's not for 30 days, it would be a great plus for you and everyone. "Everyone is different, but everyone is attractive as he/she is."

Through this movie, my image toward America had changed, and I could learn various things. Although I had known that there are a lot of overweight people in the U.S., the number of that highly exceeded my expectation. Over 100,000,000 Americans- 60% of the U.S. adult population are overweight or obese, and these numbershave doubled since 1980. That's unbelievable!! The fact that obesity is now only second to smoking as the major cause of preventable death in the U.S. shows that the obese is really serious problem for Americans. In spite of the dangerous situation, Americans are still absorbed in McDonals world. Not only Americans, but people all over the world are captive of McDonals. The shopes are keep prevailing throughout the earth restlessly. Mc Donals almost makes itself, so to speak, the conqueror of the world. What on the earth is the attraction of it? Is it a low price? Is it the taste? I wondered for a while, but I still cannot find the best answer for this question. We might be fascinated by the magical power unconsciously.

If I were Morgan, I would give up in only a couple of days.
I would miss other foods like rice, miso soup, or something refreshing. Even if the food I have to eat for 30 days is my favorite one, I wouldn't be able to achieve!
So I respect his strong will. I was astonished by the surprising fact that Morgan gained 24 pounds, his cholesterol rose 40 percent, he felt lousy for many times, and his sex life collapses, only for 30 days!! It made me to be afraid of the bad influences which the eating fast foods causes, and at the same time, I cannnot help worring about people's health conditions who eats McDonals everyday. Their body must scream with their bad eating habits.
It would be clear by their appearance, although there are some exception like the man in this movie who is surprisingly bony.
It might be difficult to change their eating habits, but they themselves have to take care of their own body more and more if they don't want to end their lives early. Besides themselves, American society also should exert it self to improve citizen's health.
For example, schools especially elementary schools have to provide well-balanced lunch for students like Japan, not to allow students to choose what they want. Because they tend to choose unhealthy foods and they can't learn proper eating habits. Whether their future became better or worse depend on their parents too.
Actually, in Japan, obese people tends to be looked as people who can't control themselves and social evaluation toward them is low. So, education of foods and health is important for children.

I think I'm healthier than before because I conquered my likes and dislikes about food, vegetables. Yet I realized through this movie that I have to pay attention to my eating habit, because I'm living alone here. This movie gave me valuable opportunity to think deeply about health. The connotation I found is the word which means "Wife."
In Japanese, there are at least 5 words that mean wife, such as "Yome," "Tsuma," "Kanai," "Okusama," "Nyoubou." I'm going to give you an example about two words, "Kanai" and "Okusama" this time. The word Kanai is a neutral connotation which is only used by the husband. For example, when a husband introduces his wife to others, he says "Uchi no Kanai desu. (This is my wife.)" Make sure you can't use this word toward people except your wife. If you use, it would be very strange and rude.
On the other hand, the word "Okusama" is a positive connotation, which shows polite meaning.
For example, when you want to talk about someone's wife, you can say "Okusama ha nanio shite irassharu no desuka? (What does your wife does?/What is your wife's occupation?) " Then, remember you can't use this word for your own wife, because it's the honorific word.
When I tried to start writing about this connotation, I realized that I myself don't understand the exact uses of the word, like which is positive connotation and which is negative. I should know more about Japanese...Hehe☆ Besides this connotation, there are a lot of connotation in Japanese, of course in other languages. I'm interested in them!! (^w^*)//

Q1: Do you think intelligence is fixed at birth or constantly changing? Explain.

I think intelligence is constantly changing. Although there might be little difference of intelligence by inheritance, it's up to ourselves whether we waste or improve it in our later life. If we make every effort to find out and make the most of our inherent intelligence, it would improve dramatically. Besides, various instructive experiences, profitable meeting with people and helpful knowledges from varied kinds of books would enrich our intelligence. On the other hand, if we don't make any your efforts and don't do anything on our own initiatives, our intelligence would end without being displayed, even if we're endowed great intelligence. It wouldn't change magically without any action.

Q2: why do some highly intelligent people fail to achieve their potential?

Three reasons came to my mind. First of all, they can't achieve their potential because of their lack of efforts. Even if they're given high intelligence, if they're satisfied with their present level and be effortless, they would never be able to develop themselves. Second, they fail to achieve because their parents force their disires or ideals on their children too much. Obedient children follow their parents' ideas and can't display their talents in the filed where they should be or they want be. Lastly, this can be the reason that they couldn't blessed with people who help them to bring out their intelligence and opportunity to call forth their intelligence.

Q3: Why do some people of seemingly average intelligence achieve extraordinary success?

I think, as Thomas Alva Edison said, "Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration." and nothing can defeat efforts. Although they faced a lot of difficulties in the process for their success, they would have been able to achieve extraordinary success, because they had strong will which can defeat any difficulties and unyielding spirit by which they can change disadvantages to advantages. People gathers around such people naturally and give them a helping hand. Even the fortune smiles on them.

**Gotouchi Kitty** (^・w・^)

Do you know the "Gotouchi Kitty"? The animation character "Hello Kitty" wears various kinds of costumes and it represents the special products or festivals in each prefecture. From when I first bought the Gotouchi Kitty from Yamanashi prefecture, I have been collecting them steadly. Now, I have 7 from different prefectures including Aomori, Ishikawa, Yamanashi, Kyoto, Shiga, Kouchi, Nagasaki prefecture. I received some of them from my friend, and I bought the others by myself. Because I'm really interested in the culture in each area, they are so attractive for me. What's more, they are very cute♪ Although I have only 7 now, I wanna add to my colloction hereafter. What does the Gotouchi Kitty from your hometown describe? I'm very curious to know it!! Please tell me and give it to me....(w☆　I'll give you the Gotouchi Kitty from Aomori prefecture in return. Hehe★　I wanna travel all over Japan and collect the Gotouchi Kitty someday!!

Concert at the community center～♪♪ 　　　

Today, we mandolin club visited the Tsuda community center to perform at the concert. We were asked to perform by the organizer of the concert. This concert was the first time for me to perform in front of such a lot of people. There were more than 50 people there. I was little nervous at the begining, but once I started playing, I became relaxed little by little. The concert was absolutely successful☆ I really enjoyed playing and the audience were pleased very much!! Most of the audience were over 50 years old, so I remembered my grandpa and grandma in my hometown. They were very warmhearted people and gave us affectionate smiles. Because I have no chance to communicate with senior citizen in my new life, today was the precious time for me!! I was so happy to talk with them♪ I like to spend the time with senior citizen or middle-aged people, because there were many senior citizen around me in my hometown. I became more and more want to go back to my hometown!!
When I introduced myself in front of them and said my hometown, they were really surprised!!　Hehe♪(^w^*)//
One of the audience talk to us after the concert. She asked us to perform at the institution for disabled people next time. I was very happy about that. Maybe we'll perform in next month. I hope this nice wave would spread one after another and more and more people get to like the Mandolin. I wanna make people feel happy by the sound of the Mandola.
Besides our performance, one professsional pianist and soprano singer performed at the concert. Their performance was amazing!!! Her voice was just like the angel and attract us strongly!! I couldn't believe that such a loud voice came out from the slender woman. I was touched and nearly cried by her beautiful voice. At the ending of the concert, we sung three songs together. I felt again that how wonderful the music is!! I had a really good time today.
I wanna treasure the meeting with people all the time.... ♪♪♪

　　　I visited some booth of other clubs with my friend of the same club today! First, we went to the guitar club’s booth next to our booth to listen to their performance. The sounds of guitar were so fascinating and made me feel peaceful★ I wonder that how wonderful it is if I can play the guitar like them. They were playing the guitar with smile. I felt that I should follow their example!! Playing the musical instrument is so glamourous, isn’t it!? Hehe♪ Next, we visited the booth of flamenco club. I’ve never seen such a breathtaking performance!! Soooo wonderful!! I felt just like I was in Spain. I wanna wear that costume~!! I wanna dance like them~!! They were really cool and beautiful☆ People who sung the song for flamenco were so talented!! They were singing the songs passionately in Spanish. The performance was so amazing that I felt as if the time passed very quickly!! If I was given another life, I would try to dance flamenco. Ah…I can in this life, can’t I?? Besides, I saw the Comedy Show at the Tanimoto memorial Hall. Did you go? I couldn’t stop laughing from the start to the end of the show. Comedians were so funny!! I was happy to see them immediately, although I couldn’t believe there are famous people very in front of me☆ My seat was the third line from the front row actually. Anyway, I had a really good time today!!

　　Today was the last day of our performance during the Kansai Gaidai Festival. During the festival, how many songs on earth did we play!? I have totally no idea!! (TwT*)// We prepared 33 songs for visitors to make various requests. They could listen to music as many as they want with a hot drink and some sweets. I worked as a waitress while playing the music. It was hard, but I felt interesting for it too!! Visitors gave us words which are full of appreciations. They were the happiest present for us!! So, even if there were few people in front of us, we played with our whole hearts of gratitude. I myself enjoyed playing too!! For three days, a lot of people came to our booth 2107 including Adam and classmates of IES-B☆ Thank you soooooooooooo much, everyone!! I was really glad for your coming. Although we couldn’t performance completely, I hope you had a nice time with us and got to like the Mandolin♪ Maybe you won’t be able to come our concert on December 10th because of the TOEFL test, please come to it next year!! OK?? (>w<*)// I was fascinated by playing the Mandola more and more through this festival!! I’ll keep trying hard to tell the attraction of performance of Mandolin with other instruments for a lot of people!!

-Halloween Party at OEH-

On October 29th, we had the Halloween party at the nearby bar.
As you know, my apartment is unique, and various events such as BBQ hold twice a month.
(Itsumi has joined the BBQ once☆)
In October, members in my apartment joined two events as usual, the sports festival in Hirakata and the Halloween party. (I couldn't join the sports festival because I had the club activity on that day, though.)
This time, my friend who joins the same club took part in the party! We had to dress up as someone or something and go to the bar as wearing the costume.
It is sooooo shameful, isn't it!?
A lot of people passing us on the street gazed us and their eyes windened in surprise...(TwT)
However, because I wasn't alone and everyone wore noticeable costumes, I didn't feel ashamed so much. About 15 people including people from various countries joined this party, and dressed up in interesting costumes. Some people dressed up with a devil and other people changed himself into a Japanese samurai. There were also some animation caracters and people who wore the Chinese dress. What do you think did I and my friend choose as the Halloween costume?? The answer is.... the REINDEERS!! You must think this is out of season. Hehe♪ But there was no way except this for busy girls, because we could buy the costumes at the 100 yen shop!! After finishing the club activity, we rushed to the shop and bought them on the day.
For me, dressing up for the Halloween was the first time. It was really exciting and precious experience! I have to start thinking about what would I become for the next Halloween party from now. I want you guys to join the party next year☆ Besides, please join various other events at my apartment if you want!! I always welcome you♪

This film let me believe they are possible, and it told me an importance of strong will to change the head wind to fair wind and believing.
Henry Roth who works at a Hawaiian sea world as an animal doctor was famous for having his island fling. (This story is unfolds from his point of view.) But he had been believed that a woman who loves him very much and wants to stay in Hawaii forever (not only vacation) will appear someday. He is very kindhearted man in reality, although people around them tend to think that he is flippant. His love for animals and the heroine symbolize it vividly.
One summer day, he encounters an attractive local woman, Lucy who is tomboyish and had a very pure heart at the local seaside diner. Soon, they socialize with each other and make promise to have a breakfast everyday together. Everything seems to be all right, and nothing can interfere with their happiness.

He was shocked at the fact that she don’t remember about him on the next day. Yet he never give up, even when her family who also follows the same routine everyday not to confuse her and other people around her try to keep him away from her. He tries to win her heart every morning in a different way to have a breakfast with her, even if she forgets about him everyday and acts differently.
In the repeating days, she realizes accidentally that it’s not October 13th and feels strange about her family’s act for several months. Thanks to the idea of Roth to use video tape, she can start the new life. Even if she forgets about the day before, she can remember about it by watching the video tape on the morning. Everything seems to be OK this time, but again, they face the difficulty.
She suggests that she wants to break up with him and eliminate the memory about him by thinking there is no happy future between them. Yet finally, love overcomes every difficulties! They marriages and starts the voyage with their family.
There are two impressive scenes for me. One is that walrus acts like human, like waving, kissing, or nodding. It was sooo cute and admirable! One of my dreams is to work at the sea world overseas like him and spend a lot of time with dolphins or other sea animals. So every scene at the Hawaiian sea world were attractive for me. Another impressive scene is that Lucy’s family clears various things every night after Lucy goes to bed. Her father’s disconsolate face is unforgettable. If I were him, I would not be able to put up with the repeating life.
Through this movie, I could learn a lot of important things, especially love and belief. My heart was cleaned up by this romantic and emotional story. I hope I can encounter such a wonderful love someday….

“Seeing is believing” (Hyakubunha-ikkenni-shikazu.) It’s a famous proverb. After seeing “30 days”, this proverb came to my mind, and I also felt that “experiencing is believing” Even if you try to image others’ lives which are completely different from yours, you cannot understand their feeling and their situation. There is a limit of understanding unless you experience it and feel with your heart personally. ”Experience is the best teacher” I think, it’s the best way to understand people that you experience their lives and see (think about) things from their points of view.

I respect Morgan and Alex, because they decided to start minimum wage life by themselves and didn’t give up halfway. They would have needed a lot of courage and will. It’s hard to continue doing difficult things of our own free will. If I were them, I would throw my hands halfway. They would feel that the 30 days are really longer than usual 30 days. Even though their 30 days as minimum wage workers were very tough one, they would be able to learn many important things. I was really surprised to know the severe facts in America like that 1 in 5 kids go to bed hungry in Ohio, and I fell ashamed that I had been living until now without knowing the fact like that. In my own life, I tend to be absorbed only in my life and the surrounding around me and cannot afford to think about the people or things that have nothing to do with my life. However, I realized that I should know more about people, country, and other things, even if they have nothing to do with my daily life. I should, I want to know about various things in the world that I haven’t known yet.

If I was forced to live someone else’s life for 30 days, I would realize afresh that how happy my current life is. During the 30 days, things or surrounding that are natural in the usual life become not natural. I would realize that health body, foods, family, friends, school, and smile….all things are wonderful and it’s really happy that I have all things.
I could feel that I shouldn’t waste my life and I have to think the world of (cherish) them and my very ordinary life. Besides, my horizon would be broadened and I would be able to understand from various points of view and care about people.

This time, I could realize a lot of important things and think about what I didn’t think usually by seeing the “30 days”. The experience was very profitable to me. I want to have a wide range of interests and know about many unknown things to me from now on. (＞w＜＊)／

§ Japanese Gestures §

A common ghesture in Japan which came across my mind is the one that means "money".
Now, make an "O" with your thumb and forefinger....So far, it means "OK".
However, turn it over so that thumb nail faces the sky and the back of your hand faces the ground, then it means "money". (The "O" represents the shape of a coin.)
This gesture is used mostly by adults, especially by adult men.
For example, when a person said to you, "You have married and settled. So, why don't you have a house of your own for your family?", you can use the gesture with a bitter smile and would say, "The problem is this...hehe☆" or, "(I would buy it soon) if I have this, you know?...hehe☆"
Usually, Japanese show the gesture somewhere around your stomach to try not to show it to many people. (-w-;)

First of all, I was terribly shocked to see pictures of tragic sights in New Orleans.
The woman who holds her baby in her arms with tearful eyes...
Children who don't know what to do and come close together...
Adults who lose their reasons and behave like animals...
The sight was just like a Hell.
It might be hard for us to imagine such a serious situation.
However, we should not to look the other way.
This Hurricane Katrina was a catastrophe which nobody hope. Yet if this tragedy hadn't happened this time, the issue of race (poor black people) would still have been disregarded.
Why only black people have to have such a hell of time?
The Govenment should turn their eyes toward the problem which is in their own backyard, before thinking about other contry's peace. I hope that not only the Government, but also more and more people who live in the U.S. and people in the world turn their eyes toward this problem, think, and act thanks to the Hurricane Katrina.
The issue of race still remains in America now. I was puzzled about that the word "poor" black people was repeated again and again in the CNN news.
What can we do for black people in New Orleans? I felt that there're a lot of things about which we have to know in this world....

Q No.1: Are some people relatively happier than others? Why or why not?

No. I don't think so. Because we are absolutely same when we're born. We make the starting line together. It's up to you if you become happy or not. Your happiness depends on how you think and how you live. Even if the people are born into the poor family, he may feel happy just because he has a wonderful parents, just because flowers are beautiful. Even if the people are born into the rich family, he may not feel happy for his life, because he doesn't have many friends. Then, there are a lot of people who don't notice they're happy because they're too greedy and don't be satisfied with happiness they have now. Our sense of value (value of hapiness) are different, actually. We feel happy for different things.
Yeah, we are same as one person when we're born. We can change our life to happier one without limit in the later life after born. It's up to you! And you may be able to feel happy for even a trivial things around you☆

Q No.2: What would it take to make you happy now?

People's smiles and nature make me happy now. When I see your smile, I also smile and feel happy!! I like to please people because I like people who are with smile on their face the best. Smile is the symbol of the hapiness. Anybody who smiles is shining and attractive. How wonderful it is, if we everybody can smile everyday. Smile has a magnificent power which makes us happy. Don't you think so? I want you to smile anytime and I wanna smile everyday too!! Nature also make me happy now. Above all, the blue sky and the blue sea give me happy. Whenever I'm depressed, feel sad, or nervous, I can feel happy if I see the sky or the sea.
I can feel relaxed and become positive. Even if the place you are doesn't have the sea, everywhere have the sky, don't they? You will feel happy when you see the blue sky, even if you spend a very busy life. I think the color of blue(light blue) may make me happy....

Q No.3: What else will it take to make you happy ten years from now?

Ten years from now, I become 29 years old. (@w@;) Honestly speaking, I can't imagine what I'm doing and what I'm thinking then. Yet I hope I'm happy and you're also happy. Hehe♪ Of course, two things which I told in the previous paragraph will make me happy on and on, although people who smile at me will change (increase) and the place I see the sky will also different. But besides them, I hope I can get the satisfying job (which I can feel fulfillment everyday even if it's little and by which I can make people happy.) and have a nice own family and they always make me happy. And if my friends and people around me are nice as they are in the future and can smile together, I'll feel grand....☆（＞w＜o）/

＊0o。Short trip to Small island。o0 ＊

Do you know where Nushima is? Nushima is the island under Awajishima (Awaji-island).
Actually, first....no, even after the trip, I didn't know where Nushima was. (Now, I know though!!)

On July 30th and 31st, I went to Nushima with members in my unique dormitory.
It was a very short trip, but really good!!
In the morning of the first date, I woke up at 5:00 am. There was one hour until departure. (^w^*) However, I was really surprised that I hadn't finished packing yet!! (TwT;)
I packed very quickly and left my room.

More than 10 people went to Nushima together by 2 big cars. It took about 4 hours to there.
On the way to Awajishima, we crossed the Akashi Kaikyo Ohashi (bridge) . But during crossing it, I was sleeping...Oh my god!! (I was awake on the return road though♪)
We took some picture at a park and took a break. (We could see the bridge from the park.)
From Awajishima, we went to Nushima by small ship (cruiser). Salt breeze was so comfortable!!

After arriving at Nushima, we went to the beach and did a barbecue party. We had swum for a long time, of course!! I can't forget that I experienced BANANA BOAT for the first time.
The speed was unbelievable!! SO scary!! We screamed and screamed!!
"Kyaaaaaaa Gyaaaaa!! Help~~~!! Stop it~~~!!!!" But a man who drived jet ski was laughing and didn't stop!! I clung to the grip for my life. Suddenly, when the boat cornerd fast, we were blown off in the air and dropped into the sea!! I felt like I almost dead. (;w;)
Banana boat was very fun, but sooooo scary.... I'll never forget this experience.

For dinner, we ate Hamo(Do you know it? It's just like a eel.) which cooked variously at the inn.
The alive apperance is strange, but cooked one is delicious. You should eat at least once!!
At night, we enjoyed fireworks and slept soundly....zZZ

On the next day, we went to the beach again and enjoyed soccer, swimming, BBQ and so on...
However, time passed so quickly.... we started for home unwillingly.
People in Nushima is soooo friendly. The small island is full of nature and interests.
I wanna go again someday. I recommend the trip for Nushima to you☆
Besides, I hope I can go to a lot of prefectures and countries during my university life.
Please take me to your hometown♪ Hehe!!

Do you know about "Hozugawa kudari"? You can go down a Hozu river (in Kyoto) on the wooden boat and enjoy touching the beautiful nature!!
On July 23th, my parents and I experienced the Hozugawa kudari in Kyoto.
First, we went to the upper area of the river (Kameoka station:JR) by train. It took about 30 minutes from Kyoto station to the Kameoka station. Because we were very excited and looking forward to experience the Hozugawa kudari, we were reading the pamphlet again and again on the train. After arriving at the start, we paid fares (￥3900 on each) and waited our turn.
On a boat, about 15 peple could be seated and 3 experts rowed the boat for 2 hours.
I respected them, because they rowed hard the boat for 2 hours without saying any complaints. In addition, they told us interesting stories about history of Hozu river and explained about the animals or mountains with smile. We really enjoyed their stories.
I thanked them and thought that people who are absorbed in doing something and enjoy doing it are so attractive. When we shooted the rapids, the boat shaked again and again, so we were very excited!! I felt refreshed by the beautiful scene and clean air♪♪They were soooo nice!!!!
I realized the wonderfulness of nature again.(＞w＜*)/
At the halfway point, a small boat was approaching our boat. I was very surprised, because there were a lot of foods on the boat and we could buy them even though we were on the boat!!
We had a really good time on the Hozu river and were fascinated by the attraction. I really recdommend it to you (especially people who live in a city)!!
Finally, we arrived at Arashiyama and had tasty lunch. We took a walk between a beautiful bamboo grove too. It was so nice day.... I wanna go again☆ Let's go together, everyone!!?

Long vacation is a good time to think about your future.
Recently, I wonder why I'm studying English...
What on earth is my dream in the future??I think about them every day.
If you ask me, "Why are you studying English?"
I will answer, "Because I wanna tell people in the world various things about Japan."
However, I can't find attractive job which is connected with this aim.
My dream which I can not give up is to be a dolphin's trainer.
But I'll not be able to make the most of my English skill, even if I become it.
Besides, it's very difficult to be a dolphin's trainer.
You don't need the special qualification to be a dolphin trainer. However, because sooooo many people want to become it, it's more advantageous to have some useful qualification or some experience. Although I can go to the technical college during the university life, it must be hard for me. What is the best way for me?? I'm confused...
To be motivated and study hard, I need the specific goal in the future now.
My friends of high school are studying practically for their dream like to be a nurse, teacher, or singer. I really envy them. I don't want to make my university life meaningless thing.

Mandola

Mandolalalala♪

This is the Italian musical instrument, MANDOLA which I play in my club.
Mandola is little bigger than Mandolin and it's sound is little lower than that of Mandolin.
There are 9 members in my club. Each of them play attractive musical instruments, like the Mandolin, Mandola, Guitar, Mandolin cello, and Contrabass. The sound of them are really fascinating!! we had a concert with other Universities in June. Though I didn't play at the concert, I could listen to wonderful music at the concert. Besides my seniors, there are over 100 players from different university and the performance was very powerful and beautiful. I could make friends with other freshman from various universities too.
Now, we are practicing hard for the own concert in December. The concert will be held in the Multimedia hall at our university and we play various kinds of music there. If you come, you'll certainly have a good time with us☆ Yeah, certainly!!
To make the concert successful, we have a camp training during the summer vacation in Shiga prefecture too. Although we don't have club activity in August, I'll bring the Mandola to my hometown and continue practicing. I'll try my best and become a great player of the Mandola as soon as possible. So, I really want you to come the concert in December!! Please come~~~(^▽^o)/ Actually, I'm absorbed in playing the Mandola recently. Uh~~~!! How nice musical instrument, the Mandola is!!

I have found an interesting essay in a certain book. It's about people's feeling when they choose tables to sit at, in the restaurants. When I go to the restaurant, I always choose....

"In restaurants many people prefer to sit at tables near the walls. They rarely select a center table in an open space. Tables in such positions are usually taken when all the wall-seats are occupied. This dates back to a very old feeding practice. By sitting near a wall people could avoid being surprised by enemy attacks while consuming their food. From here, at every moment, they can see all the approaches. With his back against a wall, a scared man gets the most protected view. Many restaurants place small screens around their center tables. This gives their customers a sense of security and privacy. A 100 percent 'backs-to-the-wall' table setting is the most attractive proposition for modern diners who are haunted by ancient fears. But it makes the serving of food extremely difficult."

Surely, I can feel relaxed when I sit at tables near the walls. Even in the classroom or other confined rooms, I prefer the seats near the wall. I don't like to be surrounded by many people, actually. Image the situation that you go to the restaurants or some other places and choose sheets to sit down. How would you react?

Recently, I sometimes go to the restaurant with Seppyoru on the way home.
We go to the "Pomu-no-ki" which is the restaurant of omelet containing fried rice (Omu-rice) frequently. Today, we went to the "Oushou" which is the Chinese restaurant, and then went to the "Thirteen-one" to eat triple ice cream!! We ate too much, didn't we!? Yet they were really tasty!! I recommend these restaurants to you. I wanna go other restaurants next time. If you know some attractive restaurants, please tell me☆ Let's go together!! Hehe.(-w-o)
Actually, Shopping and eating tasty foods help me to lessen my stresses. I have to be careful not to put on weight, though. I'll get fat during the summer vacation. Because I can eat many tasty foods in my hometown, Hachinohe. Although I don't want to gain weight, I'm looking forward to go back my hometown and eat delicious foods...(^￢^)/ In my hometown, I want to play with my dog (Golden retriever, named LOVE), go out my friends, join some festivals, go swimming, visit my high school and meet my teachers and juniors......and so on. I'd like to come back my hometown as soon as possible. There will be cooler and more comfortable than here. Besides, I wanna go to the Disney Resort and other prefectures, like your hometown. Please take me to your hometown...(@w@) Then, what is your plan for the summer vacation?

On January 7th 1995, at 7:37 a.m.
Hachinohe city was hit by a severe earthquake registered 6.

On the day, an 8 year-old girl, Yoshiko was still in her dream with her older sister, Yuko.

Suddenly, the house started to shake terribly! Yuko got up and shouted,
“Hey! Get up!! We have to run away!!” However, Yoshiko was frozen to the spot with fear.

The next moment, a big closet started to fall over toward Yoshiko. Yuko tried to prevent the heavy closet from falling over with her thin arms. She shouted for help, but nobody answered.

At the time, their parents were trying to climb the shaky stairs to help them.

Can Yuko withstand the weight!? Can Yoshiko survive!?

Homecoming during this GW

Did you have a good time during this GW??(>w<;)
What did you do!? Did you return your hometown??

I have just come back to Osaka from Aomori.
It took about 6hours...and it cost about 42000yen. it's sooo expensive, isn't it??
But I had a really good time in Aomori.
It was soft weather (wasn't hot like Osaka!!) and really very comfortable☆（＾－＾*）
The temperature there is about 10℃ lower than Osaka. For example, when it is 28℃ in Osaka, it is 18℃ in Aomori(Hachinohe city). And it's still cold at night or at dawn. So, sometime, the heater is used!!! Can you belive it?? Hehe☆(^w^;)
I'm uncertain whether or not I can stand the heat of summer in Osaka...

It was short but nice stay in Aomori.
I had a wonderful time with my friends and family (and my dog♪).
I learned to like my hometown more and more!!
I'm looking forward to returning home in summer vacation...
